Popular Highlife artist Lucky Mensah has revealed that his dream was to be a professional football
The “Come Back to Me” hitmaker, who owns Lucky Mensah Soccer Academy, was speaking in an interview with Justice Adusi-Poku on The Legend Sports Show on Atinka FM.
Lucky Mensah explained further that as he was growing up his love for football was highly exceptional and his dream work was to become a professional footballer and administrator.
He stressed that singing was not part of his aim, growing up. “I was sacked from home because of football,” he said.
He stressed that support from his family was not enough to push him extra into football so he had to divert to music and “God being so good” he had a firm ground in Ghana’s music industry.
Lucky Mensah emphasized that since he could not get the chance to play football to a certain level, his interest in nurturing young players has become his priority.
He hinted that Ghana has the “talent we can build on as our national team” hence his decision to groom children and the youth to help Ghana football. He expressed his joy after playing 120 matches without a loss.
He mentioned David Kwame Koranteng, the winner of the GFA/KGL Foundation U17 Inter-Regional Championship, as a player he has managed and is proud of.
Lucky Mensah said his goal has been to enter Division Two and to progressively move toward it.
