Agogo-based radio station, Salt FM, remains shut after the National Communications Authority (NCA) and a group of security officers, on Tuesday, stormed the studios to disconnect their equipment.

The action was over the non-renewal of the authorization license, which angered some residents of Agogo, who staged a demonstration to resist the closure.

Management has since moved operations online through Facebook streaming as they engage the NCA on the matter.

Meanwhile, the closure of the radio station has added to the speculative discussions in Agogo of attempts to stop its owner, Ohene Kwame Frimpong from contesting as an independent candidate in the 2024 parliamentary elections.
